Our Mission

Our mission statement is simple: Treat your patients as you would like to be treated (basically the Golden Rule).

At Hanft Family Chiropractic, you’ll get the best care possible. The techniques you’ll encounter at the office may vary, but the overall goal is the same: to help you meet your health care goals and to optimize your overall potential. This may require the assistance or co-management of another health care professional. I promise if I can't help, I will assist you in any way I can to help find someone who can.

Meet Doctor Hanft

I grew up in northeast Iowa in the small town of Waverly, IA. Upon graduating high school, I moved to Wisconsin where I attended the University of Wisconsin and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Zoology. Upon completion of this program, I immediately enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, which incidentally, was the first chiropractic college/school in the world. While studying at Palmer College, I had the life-changing opportunity to travel/study abroad providing chiropractic care in Bolivia, South America. This multi-week trip was an amazing experience, and while there I was able to see many complex and complicated cases while helping over 125 patients experience chiropractic and feel better. The entire group of students saw over 3000 people in 6 clinic days. It was truly amazing!

In 2005, I graduated with my Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree and along with my wife, moved to Columbia, MO and where I started Hanft Family Chiropractic. Today, my wife and I have two children, Ayden and Savara, and two furry family members named Rosco and Tootsie. When not seeing patients and working, we love being outside in various manners. Hiking, walking the dogs, running, and watching sports are just a few of my hobbies, and anyone who knows me well knows that college wrestling is a passion I hold close to my heart.

I have run 4 marathons (2003 and 2004 in Chicago, 2012 and 2013 Heart of American in Columbia, MO) and have recently started doing triathlons. My extended family is vital in my life, and although they don’t live close enough for my liking, if you see our office is closed, it’s likely the result of my going to see family in Iowa, Arizona or Wisconsin.

I’d love a chance to see yourself, a family member, friend, co-worker, or anyone else you think would benefit from chiropractic care. Give us a call or stop in meet me in person, and find out what sets us apart from other offices in Columbia and central Missouri.
